That is, Arnold Schwarznegger (Governor of California and body builder), Floyd Landis, Lance Armstrong, Johan Bruyneel, and George Hincapie. Check out their jaw and chin bones.
A reader sent me some pictures along with this excerpt from Wikidpedia about human growth hormone:
Do any of their jaw / chin bones look unusually thick? I'm not sure what you can conclude but they don't look thin to me. Maybe that isn't too surprising for a body builder or a retired cyclist who has put on a few pounds. However, Floyd, Lance and George are all pretty lean in these pictures."Prolonged GH excess thickens the bones of the jaw, fingers and toes. Resulting heaviness of the jaw and increased size of digits is referred to as acromegaly. "
See what you think...
I disagree. First of all, I've known and raced against George since he was 15. I don't think he looks any different today then he did then. Second, these guys are abnormally skinny. Most of them would think they were from Ethiopia when they take their shirts off because you can see every bone in their body. Because they are so skinny, their cheaks are sucked...causing their jaws to appear wide. Or, because they've put on so much weight, or because they have naturally wide jaw bones, they fit your hypothesis. But you could add a picture of Greg LeMond, and he'd look the same way...protruding chin with a divit and wide jawbones. He must have been a doper also then.
ReplyDeleteMark, like I said, I'm not sure what you can conclude from this. I think you have some good points...
